The challenge

Plant could not staff two pallet stackers per shift. Recruiting cycle averaged 90 days and turnover ran 140% annually. Manual stacking also produced inconsistent pallet patterns that triggered downstream truck-loading rework.

What we built

FANUC M-410iC/185 palletizer with vacuum end-of-arm tooling. Twin in-feed conveyors merge into the cell, and a Lantech stretch-wrapper closes the pallet automatically. SafetyMark light curtains and a Banner LE-Series safety controller form the muting zone.

Key equipment

  • FANUC M-410iC/185
  • Lantech Q-300 stretch wrapper
  • Banner LE safety controller
  • Hytrol case conveyor

Results

Cell hit 60 cases per minute sustained on day 3 of runoff. Two stacker positions per shift redeployed to higher-value work, and payback projected at 16 months before maintenance reserves.
